COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Part of the role of SES is to work with our community to prepare for, and to mitigate natural hazards damage. The Unit takes opportunities such as those listed below to get our message out.
ANZAC DAY PARADE
Bunbury SES Unit frequently assist the Bunbury RSL with the crowd handling aspects of the Parade. We also have a team marching in the Parade and participate with laying a Wreath of Remembrance.
BUNNINGS SAUSAGE SIZZLES
We run the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle stands 2-3 times per year. At these events we take the opportunity to speak with members of the public about making their homes storm safe.
CITY OF BUNBURY CHRISTMAS PARADE
We usually assist the City of Bunbury by performing crowd control along the route of the Parade.
EMERGENCY SERVICE CADETS
Bunbury SES Unit frequently attends local schools to provide instruction and information to their emergency service cadet groups.
CITY COMMUNITY OPEN DAYS
We frequently attend local Shire Community Open Days to engage with the public in providing relevant safety information dependent upon the season.
