National Volunteer Week 16-22 May 2022
National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation's volunteers. These men and women play a vital role in making a difference in our communities.
The theme for National Volunteer Week 2022 is
Better Together.
Volunteering brings people together; it builds communities and creates a better society for everyone. National Volunteer Week is a chance for all of us to celebrate and recognise the vital work of volunteers and to say thank you.
Together, through volunteering, we are changing communities for the better. We are, Better Together.
Bunbury SES appreciates the support of Volunteering WA and Lotterywest in helping our dedicated volunteers celebrate National Volunteer Week 2022. Thank you to Lotterywest for funding our celebration of volunteers and their important contribution to our communities.
The City of Bunbury will light up our iconic Koombana Foot Bridge in red to celebrate National Volunteer Week on Wednesday, 18 May 2022.
Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day) 18 May 2022
Going orange for WOW Day – We encourage the public to wear orange on Wednesday, 18 May 2022 to show your support and appreciation for the SES volunteers.
Bunnings Bunbury gave us the opportunity to run a community engagement stand to communicate our Storm Safety messages – none too soon as the rain pelted down for much of the day. Bunnings generously donated a Jumbuck (Weber type) BBQ with BBQ tools, heat beads and fire lighters for us to raise funds by selling raffle tickets, and the lucky winner was a lady named Julie.
